Commander Weiss was a Heavy Cruiser commander during the early years of the Alliance-Syndicate war and one of the survivors off the Merlon.

Serving on Merlon[]
Weiss's early career as an Ensign was spent as a Gunnery Officer aboard the Heavy Cruiser Merlon under the command of Commander John Geary.
During the Battle of Grendel, Ensign Weiss manned his station until Geary ordered all hands to abandon ship.
Commanding the Ishigaki[]
Six years after the Battle of Grendel, Weiss was promoted to Commander and assigned as the commanding officer of the newly built Ishigaki.
