Robert Geary is the founder of the Geary Family on Glenlyon. He was among the first colonist to arrive in Glenlyon. He had past military experience as a junior Officer in Alfar's Navy. And became a major Hero in the pre Alliance Wars, by saving Kosatka and Glenlyon multiple times against grave odds.

Although Robert Geary and his actions would be forgotten, he laid the foundations for the Alliance Fleet from basic operating procedures to the brief saying "To the honor of our ancestors" at the end of formal messages.
Geary's actions would be recorded in the unpublished memoirs of Alliance Marine General Mele Darcy, which would be passed down through the Geary family, eventually arriving to his descendant, Admiral John "Black Jack" Geary.
A picture of Robert Geary, Lyn Geary and all three of their children would be kept on one of the walls of the Geary family house on Glenlyon.
