The Pele, named after the star near Midway that was abandoned and claimed by the Enigma's, is the flagship and first Battle cruiser of the Midway Flotilla.
The ship is under the command of Kapitan Third Rank Kontos.
History of Service[]
Service in the Syndicate[]
The unnamed Battle Cruiser was built by the Syndicate, and somehow ended in Ulindi system. When his government CEO Haris, seceded from the Syndicate Worlds and proclaimed himself "Supreme CEO", the ship become his reduced fleet's flagship. It was send, at the command of four Hunter-Killers, to Midway to realize the Attempt to Steal the Midway. As most of Midway Flotilla was in a far mission, everything appears to be fine, and both Midway's remaining Heavy cruisers accepted to join Ulindi's Flotilla... but it was all a trap: the boarding party was slaughtered by a elite infantry unit under the leadership of Colonel Gaiene, and they boarded the Battle Cruiser, while Midway's two "defector ships" neutralized the Hunter-Killers. The boarding action was quick and unstoppable: the crew assisted, killing the nearby Snakes, and surrendering. With the ship's three Citadels besieged, the boarders only had to blow the entrance of one: the other two surrendered, leaving the ship in Midway's hands.
Service with Midway[]
As his people had captured the ship, President Iceni, left General Drakon to name the ship. Her politic was to name bigger ships after nearby star systems, so he named it Pele after Pele, a system occupied by Enigma's. Most of the crew was willing to join service with Midway, but barely a quarter of the original ones had survived the boarding. The dead ones were replaced by newly liberated personnel of Reserve Flotilla and led by Kapitan Kontos, the previous commander of the Midway.
