Kapitan Kontos is a Battlecruiser Commander in the Midway Flotilla and a former Syndicate Sub-Executive.
Biography[]
Life in the Syndicate[]
Kontos home planet is unknown, but as the Battleship B-78, later renamed the Midway was built at Taroa, he was probably from there. He was one of the Taroa shipyard's crew sent to finish building the ship, when it was sent at Kane.
When the Internal Security Service agents boarded the B-78 and began slaughtering the crew, Kontos was on the bridge's Citadel, and obeyed the last orders of his direct superior to close the Citadels. He became the highest ranking survivor, and took command, refusing the Snakes orders to open the citadels and, communicating with the other Citadels, helped them to keep his morale high.
When the Midway Flotilla, lead by President Gwen Iceni, arrived to Kane, Kontos communicated with her, informing her of the situation, and warning her about a freighter carrying Snakes reinforcements, facilitating Midway's forces to destroy it.
Even after the Snakes of the battleship were killed, Kontos feared it was a trick, so he didn't opened the Citadels until Iceni in person appeared outside.
After the First Battle of Kane was finished, Kontos retained an authority position on the warship. When the ship's main propulsion gave problems, he personally swore to Iceni that in an hour the ship will be ready to go, and he keep his promise. Iceni, grateful and impressed by the young virtues, promoted him to Kapitan-Leytanant, recruiting him officially in Midway's Flotilla's forces.
Serving on the Midway[]
As the Midway wasn't finished, and was docked to Midway's orbital shipyards, Kontos became the de facto captain of the ship. When the Enigma race attacked Midway, in the Second Battle of Midway, he took the initiative to attach the Battleship to the space station, thinking it may be necessary to move the station. His decision was prophetical, and when the Enigmas ships launched a kinetic bombardment, the Midway's propulsion displaced the station, narrowly saving it from the attack.
Weeks later, after Ulindi's forces launched the Attempt to Steal the Battleship, Kontos help to deceive the Syndic forces, posing as a young and desperate commander. In exchange for its exemplary service, after the battle, he was promoted to Kapitan Third Rank and reassigned as the first commander of the newly captured ship, renamed Pele.
