First Battle of Kane is a battle between forces from Midway to capture an incomplete Battleship from the Syndicate Worlds in the Kane System.
Preparation[]
After sending three HuKs into nearby systems to gather intelligence, the Hunter-Killer sent to Taroa reported back a capital ship under construction, in addition they were also able to report a Light Cruiser potentially open to joining the flotilla at Midway and a nearly finished Battleship that was moved to Kane from Taroa to ensure it finishes construction.
President Iceni then decides to take a small force with her to capture the Battleship, after discussing with General Drakon what forces would be needed to capture a ship with just a fitting crew he agrees to send three squads, the maximum amount of firepower that can be carried on the Heavy Cruisers, however since the target to be captured is a Battleship he sends Colonel Rogero to lead the force along with three shuttles.
After spending two hours lifting the soldiers and equipment needed for the mission President Iceni takes the flotilla on a path towards the jump points to Kane and Taroa, during transit the propulsion units on C-818 are under performing and the leaving the ship unable to keep up with the rest of the flotilla and causing Iceni to order the ship to remain behind for further repairs.
Battle[]
Approaching the Gas Giant[]
Upon exiting jump space the Flotilla passed by a freighter leaving the system via the Midway jump point, avoiding firing on it to encourage other ships to continue interstellar trade in the region. President Iceni ordered the flotilla to head towards the gas giant concealing the mobile forces facility housing the battleship, the only mobile forces detected in the system were a single Heavy cruiser, three light cruisers and six Hunter-Killers located near the gas giant.
Iceni, posing as a CEO broadcasts a message stating her intent to take her flotilla to the main mobile forces facility, Iceni then orders her ships to proceed the mobile forces facility at point one light speed to herself look brash new CEO, like she has important business elsewhere and wants people to see how important she is. Eventually they receive messages from the CEO in charge of the system, as well as from the Sub-CEO at the mobile forces facility trying to get her to take her ships away from the facility, Iceni takes this as a sign that their intelligence about the battleship were correct and proceeds onwards to the facility. Colonel Rogero reports that they are only getting routine communications with the facility, indicating that the only resistance they are likely to receive will be from the fitting crew and any snakes that are aboard the ship.
As they get closer to the gas giant Iceni drops her disguise and announces who she really is and encourages the people of Kane to rise up against the Syndicate, she then directs Kommodor Marphissa to try to contact people in the other to convince them to join them.
